Light and sound installation for a choreography of natural waves. A group of Petri plates lay onto some audio speakers. These speakers reproduce subtle, almost silent sine waves with different frequencies, amplitude levels and at different time intervals. The sound excites the water inside the Petri plates, creating different visual patterns and drawings according to the frequencies and the amplitude. The streams of light hit the water according to a macro time structure, projecting these patterns on the wall. The name of the work refers to the fireplaces used to warm houses in the past. They represented not only a common heating system, but somehow a center of domestic aggregation. Personally, I think of them as irresistible hypnotic attractors.
